Brazilian Teak is a beatiful species with naturally rich color and superior hardness making it well suited for both residential and commercial settings. It's unique grain, color and hardness make it a very popular exotic species.As the floor ages its color becomes darker and richer. Engineered hardwood floors are a combination of solid hardwood as the top layer and plywood as back layers offering more stability to the floor reducing the natural expansion and contracton of the wood. All or our engineered floors have a siliced cut top sawn veneer. This special cut provides for the same appearance as solid wood flooring. This type of floors can be installed where light moisture might be present like kitchens and basements. When done by a professional it can be re-finished up to four times. Using engineered flooring helps the preservation of the forest; it uses four times less of each log than solid hardwood floors. Our hardness rating measures and ensures the hardness of wood. It is the best measure for the wood species ability to withstand denting and wear. It also indicates how hard the wood species is to saw or nail exposure.

Color Variant

Each species is characterized unique with distinctive rich natural colors and grain. A spectrum of colors may be represented within just one exotic species, adding character to the hardwood flooring and establishing a beautiful assortment of colors.

Photo Sensitivity

Photosensitivity measures the scale of dark shades the floors will develop through the exposure to sunlight, while enhancing the natural essence of the exotic species. Through the maturation process of your flooring, the color will acquire a deeper and richer depth.

Appearance

Color: It has a rich golden-brown to reddish-brown color. It will darken slightly over a few months with exposure to light to a more uniform color.
Grain: Fine texture, waxy or oily feel.

Properties

Hardness: ( Janka): Average of 3540, (Northern Red Oak 1290). Brazilian Teak is one of the densest wood products in the world, making it insect resistant. The extreme density helps prevent warping, shrinking and swelling.
Dimension Stability: Average, (12% more than Red Oak), due to its dense grain, very dry environments may not be optimum.
Origin: South America
Finish: Our floors have 8 layers of low gloss lacquer made by Treffert. It contains Aluminum oxide, U.V. and anti-scratch.
